Google Reportedly Plans to Replace Gmail Service and Migrate Users

As per a recent report by Forbes, Google Inc seems to be planning for a big change for the Gmail users. It is going to replace the Gmail accounts with 'Inbox By Gmail' service. From the past few weeks, the Gmail users have been getting a pop-up message as soon as they login to their Inbox, that says, "Thanks for trying Inbox! To make it easier we've updated Gmail to redirect you here”. Moreover, the old URL inbox.google.com has now changed to gmail.com.

However, the users are also getting an option to stay at the old version. It's their choice either to redirect to inbox.google.com or remain at the same URL. Those who don't want to move to the new format can simply click on “Turn it Off” option, which will make both the services stick to their respective domains. Forbes has also disclosed that the newer version named “Inbox by Gmail” is going to be superior in terms of technology. It will feature smart recognition of photos and documents, which is not present in the current format.

Inbox By Gmail

Google introduced Inbox in October 2014 and since then Inbox by Gmail has been seen operating concurrently with Gmail. However, now the time has come when both will be separated through a replacement strategy. As of now, it's an experimental offer, but it is believed that by the end of 2016, Gmail will bid farewell to its users. It is indeed going to be a significant transformation for both users and the technology world.
