Microsoft Is Bringing Next-Generation Wireless Display Adapter

Microsoft, the tech giant has unveiled an upgraded version of its Wireless Adapter, its Chromecast like dongle that allows users to see what's on their phones, tablets, or laptops onto their television screens.

The Adapter is priced at $49.95 (approximately Rs. 3,500). The wireless device is now up for pre-orders via the company's online store in Canada and the US. The device will go on sale starting from March 1. The company also added that the Wireless Display Adapter will be also available via Best Buy and Amazon when it will be introduced in the markets soon.

Microsoft's New Wireless Display Adapter

Microsoft is trying to develop the next generation Wireless devices. The newly launched wireless adapter by Microsoft reduces the latency and packs with a new form factor. Earlier in 2014, Microsoft was launched its first generation Wireless Display Adapter and was priced at $60 (approximately rs. 4200). The major disadvantage of the first generation adapter is that it only support Windows-powered devices.

On the other hand, the freshy Wireless Adapter will allow the people to mirror from Miracast-enabled phones, tablets and laptops including the Surface lineup. The adapter supports Intel's Wi-Di wireless display protocol.

The users can plug the USB and HDMI from Wireless Display Adapter into their Tv or Monitor. The company promises that the adapter delivers a connection up to a 23-foot range. The device will be available in Dark Titanium color and weigh approximately 33 grams. It is measuring 103.5*22*11mm.

Announcing the Wireless Display Adapter, Chris Smellie, Product Marketing Manager said, "We heard great feedback from the device, most notably from students and mobile professionals, due to the size, ease of use for setup, and the fact there was no internet required for it to work."
