Apparently, it looks like Microsoft's latest product Surface Pro 3 users are facing some weird battery drainage problem on their Tablet Computer. The issue has been raised on Microsoft Support Centre by many users and has been in line from May this year.
Microsoft on the other hand, has taken this issue seriously and have taken the responsibility to fix this battery problem as soon as possible. Microsoft spokesperson said: "We are aware of some customers reporting a scenario with their Surface Pro 3 batteries in which the system is reporting lower battery capacity than expected. This is a top priority for our team, and we are working quickly to understand the root cause. If you are experiencing this scenario, please contact Microsoft customer support."
The good news is that the issue will be getting resolved with a software update as mentioned by Microsoft without going for hardware replacement. The issues started from May and came to light when all such users who faced this trouble started giving their issue a voice over various social media platforms including Microsoft Support Centre. One user stated that the battery's capacity on his device doomed from more than 42,000 to just below 6,000 mWh in a period of four months.
As per the reports, all Surface Pro 3 laptops are integrated with batteries of two manufacturers: LG and Simplo, in which the Simplo manufactured batteries are getting infected by this issue meanwhile LG batteries are out of this tussle, reporting no problem with them.
Another news that has been rolling out from quite a while is that the Microsoft is charging fee for the replacement and for looking into this matter. But if what the official statement states is belived then Microsoft has no plans to collect any kind of charge for the rectification of this issue even for those laptops which are out of warranty laptops and should be covered for no extra charges.
