Qualcomm Revealed In Video, Drone Flying In Autonomous Mode

In the Consumer Electonics Show (CES 2016), which is going to be started in next week in Las Vegas. In this trade show, Qualcomm has given us a preview of its Snapdragon drone platform in a new video, which the company had announced back in September last year.

The tech related firm in a video shows a drone, automatically detecting obstacles and avoid them without any commands given by the user in its Autonomous flight mode. The video also reveals the drones architecture of 3D mapping technology by using its inbuilt cameras and sensors. It has also featuring Motion planning functionality. Qualcomm will be diagnose more details about its drone platform during consumer show in Las Vegas.

Earlier in Sptember, the company has annouinced its Snapdragon Flight drone platform by allowing designers and developers to create a new products that support 4K video recording with stabilisation, GPS navigation with obstacle avoidance, and real-time flight control. This drone is designed on a single development board, which is measuring 58x40mm and is based on a Snapdragon 801 SoC.

The Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 has a quad-core 2.26GHz CPU, integrated Adreno 330 graphics, it is a dedicated image and video processing hardware. Its Dual-band Wi-Fi n, Bluetooth 4.0 and global satellite navigation will allow for remote control and communications. For the rapid charging, is packed by qualcomm's Quick Charge tech, that will allow for fast charging between flights.

Earlier, the company has said that it will be providing the hardware and software aimed at the high end drones. It's camera will allows you to record videos simultaneously in 4K and 720p. There is also support fort additional sensors such as a barometer. It is expected to be launch oin the first half of 2016.
