Sony At Tokyo Game Show 2016 Announces two New Colors For PS Vita

At its Tokyo Game Show 2016 conference, Sony reported two new colors for the PS Vita. Silver and Metallic Red join the Aqua Blue, Neon Orange, and Glacier White in Japan. While Aqua Blue ended up making it stateside exclusively by means of GameStop, the others didn't. The new Vita colors will be accessible for JPY 18,980 (Approx. Rs. 12,400).

For the other regions, gossipy tidbits about it being suspended have been thundering for temporarily as quantities have been little, to begin with. As per sources at retail here in India, Sony's last shipment of the PS Vita came around a year ago. "They brought in around 1,500 last year and nothing else," a game store owner told. "It might not be end-of-life but it's not selling much anyway."

This ought to shock no one considering that local retail interest to the PS Vita has been having been tepid at best. The high cost doesn't help either. "The installed base is much smaller compared to any other console," said the erstwhile PlayStation India head Atindriya Bose in an interview with Gadgets 360 last year. "While it's nice to say it's a handheld console, it strikes the price point of the PS3, so which one should you have between the two?"

Sony itself has quit making games for the PS Vita, wanting to concentrate on third-party successes like Minecraft and getting nonmainstream recreations onto the stage.
