2017 KTM Duke 390 Spied First Time On Test Rounds in India

The highly anticipated 2017 KTM Duke 390 has been caught on camera while performing test rounds on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. It is the first time when test mule has been spotted in motion with heavy camouflage covering. Earlier this, a slew of spy images of this upcoming KTM Duke 390 almost undisguised has also been emerged online taken at the Chakan based Bajaj production plant. Expectations are it will make its official debut at the Milan Motorcycle show later this year.

Aesthetically, witnessing a sharp design language, the production version received new components like a bifurcated LED headlamp, fresh instrument console, sharp tank extensions and an exposed sub-frame. Besides, all the remainings like the fuel tank, tail section, seat and the exhaust system have been revised.

On mechanicals, the 2017 KTM Duke 390 will be powered by the same single cylinder, liquid cooled 373cc engine of the existing model with some refinements to meet the Euro 4 emission norms. The retuned engine would likely to produce more power and torque from the claimed figures of 44PS and 35Nm respectively of the ongoing machine. The suspension comprises the similar upside down front fork and a rear mono shock as well as it will also continue to carry the Dual Channel ABS fitment of the existing one.

Reportedly, this forthcoming KTM Duke 390 will go on production from next month and expected to hit the showroom early in 2017. As far as the price considered, it will carry the price tag higher than the existing model of around INR 2 Lakh. Post it launch, it will compete with the likes of TVS BMW G310R and the TVS Akula 310 in the Indian market.
