Bajaj Dominar 400 Seeks Price Hike For Fourth Time in 2018; Now Costs INR 1.49 lakhs

The Dominar 400 which is a flagship motorcycle from Bajaj Auto, has witnessed price hike once again. It is fourth time in 2018 and sixth time since its launch in India in December 2016. Started its journey with the price sticker of INR 1.36 lakhs and INR 1.50 lakhs respectively for the non ABS and the dual channel ABS variant, the Bajaj Dominar now carries the price tag of INR 1.49 lakhs and INR 1.63 lakhs respectively post sixth time price revision.

Earlier than this, the Dominar sees the price hike of INR 2,000 in July 2018. All the increament made in bike's pricing was of similar INR 2,000 amount. Including the latest one, the Dominar 400's overall price has been hiked by INR 12,000 and now costs at INR 1.68 lakhs. The automaker did not make any official statement that why this flagship's is being increased repeatedly. If  it continues, the motorcycle's sales will be affected badly.

Powering the Bajaj Dominar 400 is a 373cc, 4 stroke, single cylinder engine with triple spark plug technology. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox transmission, the engine makes out 35 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The telescopic front forks and rear monoshock complete suspension setup. while a 320 mm disc brakes at front and a 230mm disc at rear wheel handles braking in association with a dual channel ABS offered as an option.

The facelifted Dominar 400 is set to hit the market with 2019 Model Year updates early next year. The test mule of the same, has also snapped several times performing test runs in the country. From the spy images, it is known that the upcoming model will furnish the USD front fork, new handlebar unit, revived exhaust unit along with a host of cosmetic changes as a part of new year updates.

Also, the rider's aid of ABS will be provided as standard unit. As the country is going to witness the implementation of new BS-VI emission norms with effect from April 2019. it could result in price hike for one more time, expected to price INR 1.65 lakhs, the 2019 Dominar 400 will continue to lock horns with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, the market leader in segment.
