Benelli Tornado 302 to be Ushered in India during Diwali

The wait finally seems to be over!! The much-anticipated adventure tourer Benelli Tornado 302 is all set to enter the Indian automotive two-wheeler market during this festive season. Perceiving the reports, it looks like the Indian arm of the Italian giant is gearing up for the launch of the faired sibling of TNT300 and present the bike nearby Diwali. The fully-faired Tornado 302 was first showcased at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show.

Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Motowheels, in a talk with a publication, said that they have decided to launch the Tornado 302 by Diwali 2016. While the homologation process is currently in progress, the components have been cleared out. They will start delivering the motorcycle from the month of October or early November.

Powering the Tornado 302 is a 300cc inline twin-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled trim, which is tuned to generate a power of 35.3PS and a torque of 27NM. The engine comes paired to a six-speed transmission, which advances all the power to the rear wheel. On the safety front, reports suggest that the faired beast is going to be armed with ABS, however, whether it’ll be a standard feature or not is unclear yet.

As per the price perspective, the DSK Benelli Tornado 302 would be tagged with a price of INR 3.15 lakh to 3.20 lakh (Ex-showroom) and probably arrive here via the CKD route. Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3 are going to be affected for sure as once launched, the motorcycle in question will lock their horns. Apart from this, the company’s Talegaon facility near Pune is has been given the task of assembling the model.
