Benelli's 150cc Scooter Performing Tests in India: Spied

Apparently, the Italian Superbike brand, DSK-Benelli is thinking beyond just manufacturing the premium bikes for what it is popularly known for. Perceiving a rapid growth of the scooter market in India, possibly because of the impressive style and performance in the range of 100cc to 150cc commuter, makes the audience feel that buying a scooter can be a much better option rather than the bulky motorcycles. Perhaps, watching this progress in the said segment, DSK is preparing to introduce a 150cc scooter in the country. Reportedly, the machine has been spotted performing its test rounds. Furthermore, it has been outlined that the upcoming scooter would be named as Benelli Cafenero and will arrive at dealerships by the end of 2016.

Scrutinizing its mechanicals, the Benelli Cafenero takes power from 150cc, 1-cylinder, liquid cooled engine that is anticipated to generate around 13BHP of utmost power and 13.3NM of maximum torque. The motor is matched up to a CVT automatic gearbox. On the technological aspect, the commuter is housed up with 35mm telescopic front forks while a five-way suspension at the rear. The tourer is built around a triangular trellis frame. Visually, the bodywork is quite unusual yet very appealing.
