BMW G310R Large Scale Production Starts at Hosur Facility, Karnataka

Born from the Joint venture of BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor company, BMW G 310 R is the highly anticipated motorcycle in India, since its Indian debut at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Few days ago, the naked roadster has been launched in UK at the price tag of GBP 4290 which is equivalent to INR 3.88 lakh. The G310R’s Indian-spec launch is slated for festive season this year. Reportedly, to cater the demand soon after its launch, the automaker has already begun the production of the street fighter at the TVS Motors Karnataka based Hosur facility.

Apart from this, the planned accessories list for the BMW G310R has also been disclosed. In the list, you get rear placed two top case option of 30-litre and 29 litre case for storage; two different seats- a softer seat and lower seat: LED turn indicators, centre stand and a 12-socket for charging. Few from the above mentioned accessories are likely to be provided for Indian market through BMW Motorrad dealerships after the launch in October this year.

On powering, BMW G310R deals with a 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is tuned to draw 34 bhp at 9500 rpm and 28Nm at 7500rpm. The engine assembly is integrated with a 6-speed gearbox for propelling all the constituted power to the rear wheel. Well, the smallest BMW will be offered with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Suspension handled by 41mm USD fork at front and monoshock at the rear. While braking duties will be taken care by 300mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes. To compete with the KTM Duke 390, the G310R could also be offered with dual channel ABS as optional in order to keep the market price low.
