BMW Registered 13 Percent Sales Growth From Previous Year

BMW Group which is to be considered the leading car manufacturer has recently announced that the company sold a total of 11,105 vehicles during the year of 2018 in the period of January to December. It is clearly indicating that company sales have got increased year-on-year and this time the company has achieved a growth of 13 percent in the year 2018.

From a total of 11,105 vehicles, the company sold 10,405 units of BMW standard models which is of mostly 5 Series and the 6 Series GT. The sales report of the company is showing that the company has achieved 11 percent growth of BMW models from the past year. The German car manufacturer also reported that its locally-assembled SUV models have achieved a 50 percent grown from its overall sales with exceptional demand for the X3.

Currently, BMW's Chennai plant, where the company locally assembles the X1, X3 and X5 expected to soon commence the assembly of the X4 and X7 during the year 2019.

According to the car manufacturer, BMW sold 700 units of the MINI brand in the year 2018 which contributing a growth of 66 percent, while the Mini Countryman contribution is 60 percent from overall sales volume.

As we have disclosed in our January 2019 issue, BMW has started working on a new model assault for India this year which includes 10 new models and two facelifts. The year 2019 will start with the launch of the X4 which will include the new 3 Series, the new X5, X7, X6, X4M, X3M, Z4, M8 Coupe, M8 Cabriolet, 7 Series facelift and X1 facelift (in no particular order).

In Two- wheeler division, the company sold 2,187 units of BMW Motorrad bikes during the year 2018. Out of them, 75 percent sale contribution is from the newly launched G310R and G310GS.
