Datsun has launched its popular small hatch, redi-GO in the sporty avatar in India at INR 3.49 Lakh (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). The new ‘redi-GO Sport’ edition comes with few aesthetics updates and a few additional features, while mechanically the car remains unchanged. The sporty redi-GO will go on sale in the country as a limited edition. As the festive season is approaching, Datsun - the subsidiary of Japanese auto-major Nissan has geared up to attract the buyer by adding the sporty spirit to its entry level small car, redi-GO.

It’s a few days ago when the carmaker officially released a teaser image of this redi-GO Sport and here it is at the right moment. As what could be the best time to introduce it in the country than the approaching festive season. The sports theme of redi-GO will further enhance the youth appeal, and Datsun hoping to receive a bump in the car sales.
From the images, the front changes can be observed. Featuring the black and red, and black and white themes, the redi-GO gets a sporty black strip across the length and sides of the car. Painted in red or white, the car gets a black coloured front bumper, exterior mirrors, alloy wheels and front grille that complete its sporty and catchy appearance. It is available only in three colour options, namely, Ruby, White and Grey. New features of the car include Bluetooth enabled music system, remote keyless entry and rear parking sensors.
On the power front, the redi-GO Sport limited edition will continue to power from the same 0.8-litre 3-cylinder mill having an engine displacement of 799cc and capable of churning out the maximum power of 53 PS at 5678 rpm while the peak torque of 72 Nm comes out at 4388 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
This special Sport edition is launched only with the top-end variant. In terms of price, it gets a slight price hike of INR 4,000 over its regular model.
