First Ever! TVS Akula 310 Production Version Spied Testing On Roads

Premiered earlier as a concept at 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, TVS Akula 310 has been spotted first time ever publically on roads while performing its test runs near Hosur, Bangalore. The images of the Heavily camouflaged production ready Akula 310 has been surfaced online via a DriveSpark reader. Based on the naked bike BMW G 310R platform, the upcoming Akula 310 is likely to make its debut later this year or sometime in early 2017.

Expected to be entitled as Apache 300, it will be the most powerful racing bike from the company. On mechanicals, it will be powered by the same 310cc single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine placed on the naked runner BMW G 310R. The motor is capable of delivering 34PS of power and torque of 28Nm with the aids of mated six-speed manual transmission.

From the images, it’s not easy to define all the components of the spied Akula, But assumptions are production version will be slightly different from the showcased concept. The full-fledged Akula 310 will be offered with a split seat, split pattern headlamp, which was not on the race-spec model. For damping duties, race oriented USD front forks may be replaced from traditional Inverted front fork to reduce the cost. Changes might also be witnessed on to the steering geometry with a bit raised clips on the handlebar for making the bike compatible for racing and touring.

Once launched, this Akula 310 will be pitted against the already established KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha YZF-R3 in the Indian motoring industry.
