2019 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special India Launch on 14 March; Priced INR 30.53 lakhs

Harley-Davidson is all set to launch the 2019 Street Glide Special in India on 14 March. Just before two days from launch, it has known that the iconic American bike maker will roll out five colours for the bike with pricing starting at INR 30.53 lakhs ex-showroom for the base Vivid Black colour variant. The top end scorched Orange/Black Demin colour trim, on the other hand, will make you shell out INR 32.08 lakhs, ex-showroom.

Powering for the 2019 edition of the Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special will come from more powerful 1,868cc Milwaukee-Eight 114 power plant instead of earlier the 107 unit. It’s now rated to develop the improved torque of 163 Nm via 13Nm over the predecessor model. While the transmission duties will be managed by a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox unit. The motorcycle weighs 379 kg and gets a 22.7-litre fuel tank.

Cosmetically, the Street Glide Special will continue with the conventional design language of American cruiser with a low slung stance. Further, it comes furnishes with the iconic Batwing fairing skirts around the headlamp unit. While the majority of components like a handlebar, fuel tank console, exhaust system and front forks are finished in black. The powertrain also receives such blacked-out treatment to a large extent. In addition to this, the fitments such as multi-spoke alloy wheels and stretched saddlebags are add on to bike’s appeal. In terms of features, the 2019 Street Glide Special will be featured packed with an updated Boom! Box GTS infotainment system placed beneath the four-pod instrument cluster. There is a touchscreen unit that offers Bluetooth connectivity and voice recognition to access music, navigation and phone functions.

In the equipped cycle parts, latest Street Glide Special will get 49mm dual bending valve telescopic forks up front and low hand adjustable twin shocks at the rear as suspension setup. The braking department will consist of 300mm twin floating discs at the front wheel and a 300mm single disc at the rear with 4-piston callipers and ABS.

In terms of rivalry, the 2019 Street Glide will combat with the opponents like the Indian Chieftain Dark Horse and the BMW K1600 GLT.
