Honda Africa Twin Bookings Open in India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. has commenced the bookings for the 2018 Africa Twin. Mind you, it is a limited edition model and only 50 units are allotted to the Indian market. The first 50 customers who will book for the ADV get a chance to witness their favourite riders live at MotoGP. Priced at INR 13.23 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the adventure tourer is available for bookings across 22 cities in India.

Being offered only in single GP Red livery, the 2018 Africa Twin is far advanced as compared to the outgoing model. A perfect amalgamation of power, comfort and control now features rider aids such as ride-by-wire, 3 riding modes and 7 levels of traction control. In addition to this, the bike gets a rally-style LCD instrument cluster and a lighter lithium-ion battery which helps in keeping bike weight lower by 2.3kg.

Mechanically, The 2018 Africa Twin will be powered by a 999.11cc parallel-twin engine that is capable of generating the peak power of 65.4 kW (89PS) @7500rpm and 93.1 Nm Torque@6000rpm. Whereas the transmission on the upgraded Africa Twin is handled by brand’s unique DTC (dual clutch transmission).

The suspension setup comprises of 45mm Upside Down front fork with dial-style preload adjuster and DF adjustment and a rear monoshock with dial-style preload adjuster and rebound damping adjustment. While the braking duties are under the consideration of 310mm twin floating front discs with Nissin 4-pot radial calipers and a 256mm disc with a 1-pot caliper. In addition to this, there is the facility of switchable ABS that enhances safety on the bike.
