Hyundai Is Still Testing New Generation Santro In India

Last year in August, Y.K Koo, MD, and CEO, Hyundai Motors India declared that the new Santro will be soon launched in India closer to Diwali this year. Hyundai is continuously testing the new Santro for India and seems like the launch is about to occur soon by this year. The car has been caught many times while testing and this time again, it is spotted near Delhi in camouflage.

The company has stopped selling the Santro back in 2016 after completing 16 years in the country. The fresh model of Hyundai Santro will take inspiration from the company's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language which will make it equally competitive to rivals. Although, the new Santro will concentrate this time as well on its tall-boy stance and this time it will come providing more space in the cabin. The cabin will get more space along with new climate control and a new touchscreen.

It is expected to take power from a 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre petrol engine choices, we expect more information to be revealed regarding the new generation model soon. It is likely to come mated to a 5-Speed manual gearbox with the choice of an AMT gearbox also. The new generation Santro will compete against the Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Renault Kwid in the market. The new Santro will be placed below the Grand i10 and the company will make it look different than others to present it unique looking in the crowd.
