India Bound New Generation Honda Civic to be Launched in Malaysia

The Japanese automaker Honda is all set to launch its new generation Civic in the Malaysian market that is the same model, which had already reported for being re-introduced in India. Besides, the carmaker has also initiated pre-booking for the sedan. Meanwhile, a list of variant-wise features of the same unit has also surfaced on the internet that confirms both cosmetic and mechanical specs.

If we talk about the India bound model, it can be a part of the company's further plans that was officially disclosed by the company at the time of speaking with a media channel. At the moment, Honda has kept its details of the India based unit unrevealed.

Moving to the leaked information, the 2016 Honda Civic will come out with three variants namely Civic 1.8, Civic 1.5 Turbo and Civic 1.5 Turbo premium. The name of the variants is enough to suggest their engine specs even though the Civic 1.8 will be powered by a 1.8-litre -VTEC motor, mated with CVT unit. One the other hand both Turbo and Turbo premium will run by a 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo trim that generates 173 PS with a torque of 220 Nm.

It looks like the carmaker has christened their name for loaded elements. By choosing the base 1.8-litre version, you will get to use six airbags, 8-way power adjustable driver's seat, LED daytime running lights, rear AC, reverse camera, 7-inch infotainment with a touchscreen,  electric parking brake, remote start, auto-hold and tilt sensor.

Coming to the Civic Turbo, it comes with additional equipment such as auto-dimming rearview camera, leather seats, 17-inch alloy wheels and paddle shifters. As the name implies, the Premium has been granted with all the basic features along with some additional elements namely, dual-zone AC, LED headlights, auto headlight levelling and LED fog lights.

Anyway, all the above-mentioned parts are reported for the Malaysian Civic sedan, but we can expect the same to the Indian model as well.  If the reports go as expected, the India based unit will appear soon in the market.
