Mahindra GenZe, an electric scooter recently spotted performing test runs in India. Earlier than this, it was seen in early 2018.
FYI, the GenZe was designed and developed keeping the US markets in mind. Now we could expect its Indian specs with sorts of alterations to keep the product pricing in check as per the Indian market. Other than the GenZe, we could see several electric vehicles from Mahindra as it also trying its level best to catch up other manufacturers in the EV segment.
The GenZe works on the plug and play concept which allows the easy removal of batteries to charge them up at home. Also, the lack of liquid inside the batteries makes them easy to operate. The used battery in the GenZe e-scooter is a 1.6kWh Li-ion removable unit which can be charged 100 per cent in 3.5 hours. In a full charge, the battery returns the travel range of 50km. In addition to this, the GenZe is designed to provide enough luggage storage at different places. The onboard features on the GenZe include GPS, riding modes, colour display screen and smartphone app connectivity as well.
In India, the Mahindra is expected to roll out one of their EV concepts in the coming 2 or 3 years as the automaker will bring these products on the production line when the market be ready for the electric vehicles.
