The German automaker Mercedes-Benz is also trying to spread its leg in the small car segment by planning to launch one of its concept models named Mercedes-Benz GLA crossover. The new small car from the Mercedes-Benz which was first demoed to the world in April during the Shanghai Motor Show, is focused to lure the customers all around the world who are very enthusiastic about the luxury crossover cars.
This new Mercedes-Benz GLA will be powered by a turbocharged 4 cylinder 2.0 Litre engine, that will be able to generate the 210 PS power and 350 NM torque. The transmission will be 7 speed dual clutch gearbox with 4 wheel drive. Also, one different version of the 2.2 Litre engine with the same specs and transmission, but with the front wheel drive for the pricing purpose as the Indian market expects the brands with less price and features, so that the customers could buy it.
The company may also produces an AMG version of the GLA with a 2.0 Litre turbocharged power unit which will produce the stunning power of 337 PS and 4560 NM of torque. On the features part, this GLA crossover from the Mercedes-Benz is not looking as the pressed version of its SUVs, but an improvised variant of the famous A – class hatchback from the Mercedes-Benz, if we look at the front fenders, interiors, headlights, and the C-pillar as the criteria. The expected release date for this Mercedes-Benz GLA crossover is sometime during the mid months of 2014, that is, July-August and the price will be like between INR 27 Lac- 30 Lac to hit the sales of BMW and Audi.
