New Seventh-Gen BMW 3 Series Spied

The soon to be launched seventh-gen BMW 3 Series has made its unofficial Indian Road debut. As per internet police, spied images of the new 3 Series reveal the premium offering undergoing ARAI testing round. Reportedly, ARAI testing is done for fuel efficiency check. Here’s all that you should know about the all-new BMW 3 Series.

  • Bigger Dimensions:- The new 3 series boasts of new increased dimensions for better cabin space. It gets 76mm longer and 37mm wider when compared to the retiring model. The wheelbase also gets extended by 41mm.
  • Reduced Kerb Weight:- Despite the increased dimensions the new 3 Series gets lighter by 55 kg over the outgoing model.

On the inside, the cabin gets Standard 8.8-inch infotainment system screen with gesture control.
BMW Live Cockpit Professional is available as optional. It includes 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen.

BMW will offer both petrol & diesel trims for the new 3 series. The petrol variant will be powered by a 2.0-litre unit available in 2 states of tune i.e 258PS (330i) and 184PS (320i). The diesel trim, on the other hand, will carry a 320d 2.0-litre unit. Both engine units come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

We expect an early 2019 launch. The price tag will be in the Rs 40 lakh to Rs 50 lakh range. Its immediate on road rivals include the likes of Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, Volvo S60, and Jaguar XE.
