Before the simultaneous launch of the highly awaited TVS Apache 200, now officially named as Apache RTR 200 4V in India and Indonesia, the upcoming Tourer has been teased with the leaked images without being camouflaged. About to be launched on 20th of January, the snapshots that have revealed appears to be the official brochure. Practically, the pictures portray a good enough summary of everything about the motorcycle.
Glancing over the power statistics, the new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.5cc single cylinder, oil-cooled carbureted motor, generating 20.23BHP of power at 8,500 RPM and a peak torque of 18.1NM at 7,000 RPM. All power is given to the rear wheel via a five-speed transmission.
Influenced by the Draken concept, the naked sports fighter looks extremely muscular. Getting a minimal fairing on the head, the RTR 200 4V sports a traditional close-fitted head light, edgy, C-shaped LED DRL on front inspired by devil's horn, LED tail lamp, spilt-up seats, clip-on handlebar, fuel tank and engine cowls. The Apache looks aggressive due to its renovated cluster.
Separating these, the fully digital instrument console gets a tachometer, a digital clock, gear position indicator, speedometer, odometer, trip meters and an service reminder icon. The tyres are joined to the turbine-style 5 split TVS branded spoke wheels for the Indian variant, while for the export one, it will be fitted with Pirelli Angel-GT kit.
The bike has become a hot topic of discussion in town, as it is about to launch a day after tomorrow. Though, it looks fairly decent from the images, still lacks in power figures as compared to the segment of Pulsars and KTM. But Apache is confirmed to hit KTM Duke 200, which is currently very strong and speedy in the 200cc segment.
Available in six color options- Red, Silver, White, Matte Black, Black and Yellow, it is expected that the starting price of the new Apache RTR 200 4V will be in the range of Rs. 95,000 (ex-showroom, Chennai).
