BlackBerry Will Launch Two More Smartphones in 2018

BlackBerry is a sub-brand of TCL communication has recently announced at CES 2018 that the company is planning to launch two new Blackberry smartphones later this year. Yet the company has not disclosed more information about the upcoming smartphones of BlackBerry. BlackBerry Motion and BlackBerry KEYone have been recently launched by TCL communications under the brand name of BlackBerry.

While addressing about the two new BlackBerry smartphones, Alain Lejeune, Global General Manager of BlackBerry Mobile said in a statement, “It has been less than one year since we formally introduced the world to our all-new BlackBerry smartphones and we’ve seen very strong renewed interest thanks to devices like BlackBerry KEYone and BlackBerry Motion. With new BlackBerry smartphones from TCL Communication now available in over 50 countries around the world, we have a solid foundation to continue building upon our portfolio in the new year. This means customers can expect to see at least two new BlackBerry smartphones from us later this year.”

BlackBerry Motion a full touchscreen smartphone was launched earlier in the month of October in the previous year. It will be available for purchase in the US from 12th January which is priced at $449.99 (approximately). The company said that apart from BlackBerry Motion the new BlackBerry KEYone (Bronze Edition) will be delivered in few regions namely Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

The First BlackBerry smartphone had been announced by the TCL communications at CES 2017, which was later famous with the name tag of BlackBerry KEYOne. However, this year had not announced anything regarding the flagship of smartphones.

BlackBerry Motion Features

The BlackBerry Motion supports dual-SIM and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat- out- of the box. It sports a 5.5-inch HD full HD display, having a 720x1280 pixels resolution coupled with DragonTrail Glass for protection. A fingerprint sensor is located on the front side of the smartphone. The BlackBerry Motion is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and also has a 32GB of internal memory storage that can be expandable up to 2TB) via microSD card.

In terms of optics, BlackBerry Motion sports a 12-megapixel rear camera, featuring a f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, the capacity of recording videos in 4K at 30fps, whereas 8-megapixel selfie camera for taking selfies and video calling. The BlackBerry Motion is packed by a 4000mAh non-removable battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 support and also has a USB Type-C port. The smartphone also has security suites such as DTEK security suite which supports FIPS 140-2 Full Disk Encryption. It also comes with Android For Work and Google Play for Work.

The BlackBerry KEYOne Bronze Edition is an updated variant of KEYOne smartphone. The BlackBerry KEYone is available for purchase from August 2017 in India, which is priced at Rs. 39,990.

The BlackBerry KEYone supports dual-SIM and it is powered by Android 7.1 Nougat- out- of the box. It has a 5.5-inch Full-HD display along with 3:2 aspect ratio (1080 x 1620 pixels resolution). It operates on octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC processor which is clocked at up to 2GHz matted with 4GB RAM and also has a 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity that can be further extended (up to 2TB) via microSD card.

BlackBerry KEYOne Camera

BlackBerry KEYOne sports a 12-megapixel rear camera, featuring a f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, EIS, and dual-tone LED flash whereas 8-megapixel selfie camera along with a f/2.2 aperture and an 84-degree wide-angle lens.

It is packed with 3505 mAh non-removable battery along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The company claims that smartphone battery gets charged from zero percent to 50 percent only in 30 minutes. From the connectivity board, the smartphone includes Bluetooth v4.2, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wifi 802.11ac, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G VoLTE, FM radio, USB Type-C (3.1), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
