Foldable Apple iPhones Likely to Unveil in 2020

The rumors and speculations regarding three Apple flagship smartphones especially iPhone X is circulated over the internet globally. A Wall Street company reported that now the company is working on to unveil its first Foldable phone by 2020. Alongside, three Apple iPhone X models, the company is also planning to unveil its first foldable iPhone model in 2020.

As reported by CNBC, an executive from Bank of America Merrill Lynch said that Apple has collaborated with Asian partners to unveil its first rumored foldable iPhone overcoming two years nearly by 2020.

Senior Analyst, Wamsi Mohan had written a note to its clients after completion of meeting with Apple suppliers in Asia,“We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED versions although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past. Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.”

Notably, it is not the first time when the company in the highlights to unveil a foldable iPhone model. Previously this year, it was found that Apple filed a patent application for foldable iPhone with the US Patent & Trademark Office in 2014 where the company mentioned some images of Apple's foldable phone, "An electronic device may have a flexible portion that allows the device to be folded. The device may have a flexible display. The flexible display may have a bending region that allows the display to bend along a bend axis when the device is folded”, the company described regarding foldable phone in the application.

Cupertino multinational company earlier in 2017 reported that it was working on new design of Apple iPhone in collaboration with LG Display but that report was not based on strong industry resources. After then the report further stated that a special task force has been allocated to South- Korean electronics company to build foldable OLED panels for new iPhone flagship smartphones that might start production in 2020.

Additionally, Samsung, Lenovo, and LG have already announced their foldable phones but none of them have actually unveiled foldable phones in the market. After seeing the patents and demonstrations, it seems that foldable phones could be the next generation factor.

However, Apple is all set to launch three Apple iPhone models in 2018 two of them might be equipped with OLED displays whereas one is likely to come with LCD panel. All of three upcoming iPhone flagship models is said to feature a facial recognizing Face ID and Touch ID support along with TrueDepth camera system. It is anticipated that the company will unveil three iPhone models in September in accordance with previous iPhone launches.
