Nokia 2 Gets Android 8.1 Oreo Update Via Nokia Beta Labs

HMD Global, the Nokia licensee brand has officially announced the latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system update is now available in entry-level Nokia 2 smartphone. Earlier this year in May 2018, HMD Global had promised that soon would roll-out latest Android Oreo update in old Nokia smartphones and the company fulfilling its promise.

The Android Oreo OTA update for Nokia 2 has been rolled out as part of the Nokia Beta Labs which indicating that the software is still in the development stage and the final version would soon be available in Nokia 2 smartphones. If the users are compatible with beta version can download it right now. Earlier this year in April, 8.0 Oreo OTA Update was rolled out in Nokia 2.

HMD Global has upgraded all the Nokia smartphones launched till now with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and it also includes Nokia 3 budget segment smartphone. The company stated that the Nokia 2 will come with Android Go software optimizations that will offer the improved optimization feature to the gadget.

If anyone has Nokia 2 and wants to update the Android 8.1 Oreo Software in their smartphone she/he must have to visit the Nokia Beta Labs page and register themselves for the beta update.

Nokia 2 Specifications

Nokia 2 was launched in October in the previous year at a price tag of Rs 6,999. The Nokia 2 features a 5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 720x1280 and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass on the top. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor clocked at 1.3GHz.

In terms of storing, the Nokia 2 has 1GB of RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage with an option to extend further up to 128GB by using a memory card. Under the hood, it is powered by a 4,100 mAh battery which can be rated to deliver 2 days of battery back up in a single charge.

In terms of photography, the Nokia 2 packs an 8MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera. The smartphone comes with the support of Google Assistant. In terms of connectivity, it includes 4G LTE and VoLTE compatibility, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a micro USB port. Sensors on the smartphone are the Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor, and Accelerometer. The smartphone supports dual- sim.

Earlier this year in May, HMD Global had launched the Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1 which are the successor of last year launched Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 2. However, the HMD Global has not unveiled these smartphones globally as expecting soon arrive in the Indian market.
