Nokia 3.1 Android One Launched in India, Price, Specifications and More

Nokia 3.1 was globally unveiled in Moscow this year in May and now HMD Global has launched the budget segment smartphone in the Indian market. The company has officially announced the launch of Nokia 3 (2018) in the country. Some of its impressive features include 18:9 aspect ratio, HD+ display, 2,990mAh battery and stock Android One certification. The company promises that the Nokia 3.1 will receive 3 years of monthly security patches and 2 years of major Operating System software updates as a part of the Android One programme. Alongside 3.1, HMD Global had also launched the trio of smartphones, dubbed as Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, and Nokia 5.1 at Moscow event this year in May 2018.

Nokia 3.1 Price and Availability

In India, Nokia 3 (2018) is retailing at a price of Rs 10,499 for 2GB RAM/ 16GB inbuilt storage, and it is the only variant that arrived in the Indian market. It will be available in three color options include Blue/ Copper, Black/ Chrome, and White/ Iron. The Nokia 3.1 will be available for purchase from 21st July 2018 on online shopping platforms including Paytm Mall and offline retail channel partners across India.

As a part of launch offers, by scanning the QR code on Paytm Mall, buyers who purchase the Nokia 3 (2018) user can avail 10 percent cash back on subsequent recharges and bill payments via Paytm. Additionally, users can receive movie vouchers worth Rs 250 which can be redeemed by booking a minimum of two movie tickets on Paytm.

Lastly, ICICI Bank Credit or Debit cardholders will be entitled to avail 5 percent cash back on the Nokia 3.1. HMD Global is also offering alluring offers to Idea and Vodafone subscribers.

Nokia 3.1 Specifications

Nokia 3 (2018) features a 5.2-inch HD+ display, 18:9 aspect ratio and screen resolution of 720x1440 pixels. The budget segment Nokia 3.1 has Corning Gorilla Glass on the top which protects the screen of the smartphone from damaging and scratching. As a part of stock Android One Programme, it runs on top of the line Android 8.0 Oreo Operating System.

In terms of hardware, it has an octa-core MediaTek 6750 clocked at 1.5GHz. Globally, it is available in two storage options i.e., 2GB RAM+16GB onboard storage and 3GB RAM+32GB onboard, however, HMD Global has launched the only base variant of Nokia 3.1 in India. Internal storage can be further extended up to 128GB with the support of microSD card. As of now, it is not confirmed when the company would launch the higher storage variant in India.

In terms of optics, the Nokia 3.1 packs a single 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0, LED flash and autofocus lens. For the selfie snapper, it gets an 8MP front-facing camera offering an aperture rate of f/2.0 and 84.6-degrees field-of-view. The smartphone has a battery back up of 2,990mAh.

The Nokia 3 (2018) comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity options. The smartphone has ambient light sensor, accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope and proximity sensor. The dimensions and weight of the smartphone are 146.25x68.65x8.7mm and 138.3 grams respectively.
