Samsung Announced Galaxy S7, S7 Edge To Launch in India On March 8

Samsung India from the last couple of weeks started sending out media invites for an event on Tuesday, March 8, where it is expected to launch the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge premium smartphones.

The company has announced the event with a tagline, "Witness The Next Galaxy-Revolution as it unveils its new sensation!" Alongside the smartphone, it is expected to launch the various accessories for the new Galaxy smartphones.

Earlier, the high-end premium smartphones by the tech firm were launched at Mobile World Congress (MWC 2016) event in Barcelona, Spain.

The Galaxy S7 smartphone is likely to be priced between Rs. 45,000-50,000, while Galaxy S7 Edge can be expected to cost around Rs. 54,000- Rs. 60,000 in India. Notably, the biggest additions in the premium smartphones are the hybrid dual SIM.

To recall the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S7 features a 5.10-inch QHD super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440*2560 pixels. The phone is additionally featuring an Always-On display, which allows the users to check notifications, time and date without having to wake up the device. The device is operated on latest Android 6.0 based Marshmallow operating system out of the box. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery.

The Galaxy S7 Edge differ mainly in the screen sizes and battery capacities. The curvy edged Galaxy S7 Edge features a 5.50-inch QHD Super AMOLED display and is backed by a 3600mAh battery. Both the phone feature fast charging technology, fingerprint sensor and have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
