Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro and Galaxy J2 (2017) Price Slashed


The price of Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro and Galaxy J2 (2017) has been slashed by the Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro was previously introduced in July 2016 at a price of Rs 9,890 and is now available at a price cut of Rs 7,690, whereas the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) edition was earlier launched in October 2017 at a price of Rs 7,390. After the reduction in price, the Galaxy J2 (2017) edition is now available at a price of Rs 6,590. From 21st February, the customer will get the benefit of price reduction for Galaxy J2 Pro and Galaxy J2 (2017).

So far, the new Galaxy J2 Pro is not been added on e-commerce platforms Flipkart, Amazon and also on Samsung online store. The price reduction was first revealed by the Mahesh Telecom, who is a Mumbai- based telecom retailer. He spread the information regarding the price reduction via Twitter. Samsung has officially announced the price cut of Galaxy J2 Pro and Galaxy J2 (2017) edition in India market.


After the reduction in prices, Samsung is able to sustain its image in the competitive market. In the past time period, Samsung has to face tough competition from the Chinese offerings such as the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite and Redmi 5A. The Galaxy J2 Pro 2018 edition launched by the company sometime in late 2017 with some tweets along with updated user experience. But this smartphone is not available for purchase in the Indian market.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro sport a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display along with a screen resolution of 720x1280 pixels and having a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, matted with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage capacity, that can be further extended up to 128GB via microSD card. It supports dual sim and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In terms of optics, Galaxy J2 Pro has an 8-megapixel rear camera along with an LED flash and the smartphone also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for capturing selfies and video calling. Both sides of the camera are said to feature a f/2.2 aperture lens on the top notch.

4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth are some of the offerings from the connectivity board. Galaxy J2 Pro is powered by a 2600mAh battery and equipped with pre-installed features such as S bike mode and Ultra-Data Saving mode. Apart from the pre-installed features, the smartphone also comes with Smart Glow LED-notification system at the rear side of the smartphone and the user can activate this from the Quick panel.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) edition supports dual- sim and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat- out- of the box. The smartphone sport a 4.7-inch qHD Super AMOLED display along with the screen resolution of 540x960 pixels. The Galaxy J2 (2017) is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos processor embedded with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage capacity that can be further extended (up to 128GB) via micro SD card. The smartphone having a 5-megapixel rear camera along with an LED flash and also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera which helps to capture selfies and video calling. It packs a 2000mAh battery under the hood.

From the connectivity board, Galaxy J2 (2017) include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB. The weight of the smartphone is 130 grams and the dimensions are 136.5x69x8.4mm.
