Huawei to Unveil New Handset Compatible With Google Daydream Platform

Chinese handset creator Huawei has some big plans set for the current year as the company is set to dispatch a Daydream-prepared smartphone. Also, a Huawei official has confirmed that the organization is all set to work with Google for another Nexus product.

Now with two different reports coming from reliable Huawei officials, it gets a bit tricky whether to believe them or not and if both the reports refer to the same smartphone.

Google expands its Cardboard VR with the announcement of Daydream project at I/O

The Redmond-based Giant Google had as of late affirmed that the Daydream platform won't be supporting all the present lineup of Android smartphones and would actually be working with a selective number of Android N running smartphones specially those that will be incorporating some extraordinary sensors and screens while giving additional support to high refresh rates to minimize latency and giving a fresh, smooth VR experience to its entire user base.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu told the media personnel that the organization has arrangements to dispatch a VR-ready "this fall" which will be highly compatible with Google's Daydream platform. However, despite this update, Yu did not share any insights about the availability of the new handset.

Huawei P9 and P9 Plus smartphones

Yu further discussed its collaboration with popular camera producer Leica as a part of which the Chinese organization struck a deal with Leica for its top of the line Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus Dual-SIM smartphones that released some time back featuring Leica-made double back cameras.

Yu also stated that Huawei's association with Leica was a "long-term project" and would continue for the next five years. With this update in line, the users can anticipate that Leica-made cameras will be a striking feature in almost all of the Huawei's top of the line smartphones for next couple of years at least for the time the collaboration exists.

A Huawei official has affirmed that the Chinese organization is taking a shot at another Nexus gadget this year. At the dispatch of Huawei P9 in South Africa, Charlene Munilall, General Manager, Huawei's Consumer Business Group in SA told Gearburn, "We're doing the Nexus again this year."

Huawei likely working on another Google nexus product

While Munilall didn't affirm whether the new Nexus gadget is a cell phone or a tablet or another item but he yet "apparently" affirmed that Huawei is without a doubt taking a shot at a Nexus.
