Samsung Galaxy Devices, Gear S can use Nokia's Here App for Navigating Offline

If you are a user of Samsung Galaxy device and want an app which can navigate you for every route and for every turn by turn walk, then Nokia has come to you. It sounds weird that how an App of Nokia will run on an Android powered Galaxy device. So, the news is that to bring its services on Android devices, Nokia’s Here mapping division has partnered with Samsung on Friday.

Now, Tizen-powered smart devices including Samsung Gear S (Launched on Thursday) can take the benefit of Here maps and location services. 'Here' is working with a Tizen app Navigator which will be used for Gear S. This app is also capable in working offline as it stores the map data on your device to utilize while you are offline.

Samsung Galaxy devices using Nokia Here App

The Navigator app on Gear S and the Here app of Samsung Galaxy smartphones can be paired to let users with its ability of planning and calculating routes. The calculated route details then can be sent to the smartwatch. This Here app will be released exclusively for Samsung Galaxy devices for free in beta version. This beta version is also capable enough to give offline navigation and maps detail for around 100 countries and public transport maps and directions for more than 40 countries, doesn’t matter if users are connected to internet or not.

The Here app will be available to download on Samsung Galaxy App store from October, when the Samsung Gear S smartwatch will enter in market.
