The Fiat's Abarth Avventura model was caught testing near Pune with a sticker of '135 Hp' on it. The same powertrain is likely to be equipped in the upcoming Abarth Punto Evo. Earlier, Fiat had announced to launch both these crossover and hatchback models in India this year. Recently, images of Avventura were posted online revealing the powertrain of this vehicle. This news has brought an end to all the speculations going on in the market.
According to market reports, the upcoming model will be powered by a 1.4 litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, generating a power of 135 Hp and a torque of 206 Nm. This engine will be clubbed with a five-speed manual gear box for transmission. The new Punto Evo model will also carry the same engine configuration under its hood.
The images suggest that this upcoming model is likely to feature body cladding, red caps covering the rear view mirrors, new exhaust tips and body graphics stretched along the length of the model. The alloy wheels are expected to be optional for certain variants. The cabin of this model is likely to get a fully black interior body and there is a possibility that a Fiat badge will be substituted with Abarth's Scorpion model.
The new model is also expected to carry various safety features like hill assist, Anti-Lock Breaking System, electronic Brake Force Distribution, air bags, etc. Both the models are expected to be launched by Fiat during this year's festive season. The prices for Avventura and Punto are expected to be INR 12 Lacs and INR 10 Lacs respectively.
