Bajaj has it's all time favorite range to showcase in Indian markets without any second thought but then a mistake occurred which lead to the hamper of company image and its sales figures. Yes, the MD of Bajaj India, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj has told about their wrong step taken in the account of their most popular series Discover.

From past few years, Bajaj has been experimenting with the design of its popular series Discover and this was eventually downgrading its focus on right customers. While the powerful and costly bikes were always the part of Pulsar 150 DTS-i league, but apart from this Discover range was also fused into this marathon which ultimately failed by various means.

Right now, in 100cc segment, Platina and CT100 have taken the responsibility and in the 150cc segment Pulsar, V15 Vikrant, and Avenger are holding the flag. Discover 150S and Discover 150F are now getting obsolete from the market and the dealers are skeptic for taking orders of these two models.

Bajaj has some upcoming plans as told by Mr. Bajaj itself, “While exports compensated, the balance had now shifted in favor of the Indian market. So since Jan 2015, we changed direction and we can see results. In the next 12 months will be a challenging but exciting time for us. We have identified four growth engines to rev up and the full thrust will be seen in the next year.”

Bajaj has also some future plans regarding Electronic vehicles for their long-term sustainability as mentioned and also questioned by Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, “It is an initiative called urban mobility. What I mean is vehicles that are very clean i.e. green and can it be almost irresistible to look at. Can someone create for emerging markets, at affordable price points, the kind of smart, clean, efficient vehicles that Tesla, for example, has created for the developed world?”

For the investment part, Bajaj is heading for a 2,500 crore capital investment in coming three years with new models approaching towards the market namely Pulsar 400 and KTM Husky in Next month and January respectively.
