Mumbai Bikers to Get Haircut as Punishment for not Wearing Helmets

An interesting strategy has been introduced by the traffic department in Mumbai for the two-wheeler riders. To upgrade the safety standards and ensure proper protection, Mumbai traffic cops would be penalizing a haircut if in case the pillion rider has been found not wearing the helmet. Besides, for the front row passenger, wearing the seat belt is a must or else, he/she will have to pay the same fine. Now, this would be a perfect punishment for the law breakers, especially the urban bikers who are so cautious about their funky hairstyles and find wearing a stuff like helmet as a totally irrelevant thing.

This new initiative is proceeding quite well as the police department has done the haircut of 13 bike-borne youngsters who did not follow the law and were taken to the station. As per the reports, the Kherwadi police, which manages the Western Express Highway has recently come up with this new level with respect to the wrongdoers.

During a regular nakabandi, the south bound bikers were arrested without helmets. When asked by the police officials regarding their journey, they were babbling and didn't give any acceptable answer. Resultantly, three to four of the accused were given haircuts at the police station.

One of the 20-year-old accused who was a student of Hotel Management said that around Rs. 3500 he has spent on his hairstyle merely two weeks ago. They seemed totally unaware by this law and said that this kind of act is extremely unfair, defending themselves.
