Naked Streetfighter Yamaha MT-03 Introduced in Europe

More than seven months ago, globally debuted naked street tracker MT-03 from the Japanese giant, Yamaha, now made its availability in the European motoring world. Having the price tag of EUR 4,995 (Rs 3.78 lakh) in Germany, Yamaha MT-03 is approx Rs 37,850 less expensive than its fully faired sister sibling, Yamaha YZF-R3.

Mounted on a telescopic front fork and rear monoshock, MT-03 bolted a 321 cc, four-stroke and twin cylinder engine on the diamond-type steel frame. The 321 cc engine manages to churns out the power of 41.6 bhp at 10,750 revs and torque of 29.6 Nm at 9,000 revs with the contribution of a six-speed transmission. It is blessed with the front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) for precise braking

Visually, Yamaha MT-03 shares the cosmetic components from the bigger sibling like MT-09 and MT-07. Some of the noteworthy features includes compact headlight with minute visor, shrouds with air intake pods on the fuel tank, sculpted fuel tank, comfortable split-stepped seat for both rider and pillion, stylish alloy wheels, etc. it has an unladen weight of 165 kg which is four kilograms lighter than fully faired beast Yamaha YZF-R3 and it uses a single piece handlebar well suited for naked roadster in place of YZF-R3’s clip ons handlebars.

For MT-09 introduction for the Indian youth crowd no justification has been given by the company officials. However the senior official recently unveiled by quoted saying that they are going to continue with their top-down approach. Sooner or later it will also be the part of the Indian portfolio. Once launched in India, it will go head to head with the Benelli TNT 300, KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Z250 available in the Indian motoring market.
