Suzuki Gixxer: The Victorious Motorcycle of the Year 2015

Well, who could have known that the newly introduced commuter segment motorcycle will become the highly nominated motorcycle of the year, 2015! The newly joined product in the Indian product portfolio of Suzuki Motorcycles is the only reason for this huge success. The Suzuki Gixxer has made its appearance in the country under the commuter section. Although, the Gixxer completely took its inspiration from the firm's flagship super sports motorcycle, named as Suzuki GSX-R Series. The Suzuki GSX-R series of sports motorcycles are the liter-class engined motorcycles carrying amazing style and stunning performance along with them.

Talking about the style and performance of the Suzuki Gixxer, it is featuring a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC configuration carrying an engine displacement of 155cc. The air-cooled motor is tuned to generate a churning power of 14.8 BHP @ 8000 RPM and achieves a peak torque of 14 Nm @ 6000 revs. The 155cc displaced engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The riding quality is maintained by Telescopic front forks and mono suspension swing arm at the rear. And, the stopping power has been taken care by front single disc brake and drum brake at the rear.

In terms of styling and makeover, the Suzuki Gixxer has scored full marks. As, I mentioned earlier that the design of the newly introduced motorcycle is inspired by the GSX-R1000 Super Sports motorcycle. The Suzuki Gixxer has collected several bike of the year, 2015 awards starting with the Bloomberg TV Autocar India Award, Bike of the Year 2015 Award (Up to 150cc), NdTV Car and Bike Awards, which comprises of CNB's Viewer's choice Two-Wheeler of the year, NdTV Two-Wheeler of the Year and Motorcycle of the Year (Up to 160cc) and last but not the least the Street Sport Bike of the Year award nominated by TopGear.

The street-fighter styling, aggressiveness in the performance and the almost naked look will surely make you envy with the rider. The perfect ground clearance, stylish exhaust, comfortable sitting arrangement, massive fuel tank and the sporty posture are some of the eye-catching features of the motorcycle which will enslave your eyes.
