Within a short period of time, Blackberry rolled out with the rumors and confirmations. The rumors were rolled out earlier and now its time for the confirmations to hit the mark. Earlier stated BlackBerry Venice is now switched to the name of the smartphone for the series of first Android based smartphone as Blackberry Priv. The specs revealed earlier with notary list and an exclusive image. The device was rumored to be provided with a slider keypad. It has confirmed now, that Priv will feature all the specs stated for BlackBerry Venice along with a slider board at the bottom side to feature a smart keyboard.
The name was firstly leaked by Evan Blass and within one hour, the name hinched the official announcement board. After the device got glimpsed in MWC 2015, it was moving in speculations. CEO John Chen says, he has kept his promise to only do an Android if it can reach the high security standards of the company. He further iterated the launch to take place in November as, "Today, I am confirming our plans to launch Priv, an Android device named after BlackBerry’s heritage and core mission of protecting our customers’ privacy. Priv combines the best of BlackBerry security and productivity with the expansive mobile application ecosystem available on the Android platform".
It is claimed to the only device by the company that will provide the “modest sequential revenue growth” within the remaining quarters of the fiscal year. The company has also made it clear that it is not giving up on its BES12 platform and stressed that it's not abandoning the BlackBerry 10 operating system. But, it has made it clear that the operating system will get an update to version 10.3.3 in March 2016. More updates for the device is lined up with various variations, as the device will get the place in the market by late this year.
