Following Amazon's Lead Google Too Releases Night Light Feature in Google Play Books

In the era of the 90's when smart phones were first made available to the world, nobody thought that they would become the necessity of life one day. But, today not only grown ups, but youngsters as well as kids are so well acquainted with smart phones that there is no limit to it. With the advancement of technology, more and more companies came into development, making the interface of smart phones user friendly.

Five years back in 2010, Google came up with the concept of Google Play Ebooks (the largest ebook store) which now allows users not only to purchase and download E-books of their choice right on their smartphone, but to even upload the same. With time as more and more users started browsing and reading ebooks on their smartphones only, the companies came up with several alternatives to match their requirements.

Amazon started Kindle and Apple came up with iBooks to facilitate users with an abundance of options to look into. Just last week Amazon updated its Kindle tablet software and now Google is also following Amazon's lead with a new mode for its ebooks app that makes reading at night more pleasant and comfortable for the eyes. To give its users a pleasant night reading experience, Google Play Books has now filtered the amount of blue light displayed by the app depending on how late it is while the pages of the book are now displayed in a warm amber color.

Google calls this new feature Night Light. On its official blog post the company wrote - Night Light automatically adapts to the amount of natural sunlight outside based on the time of day, giving you just the right temperature and brightness, and that the color adjustment is more comfortable for your eyes and greatly improves low-light night reading. If a user hasn't yet invested in a Kindle or Apple iBooks, then he can surely download Google Play Books from the App Store as its available on both the Android and iOS devices.
