AMD Revealed its Radeon RX 470 and RX 460 GPUs at E3

The show of the graphics, technology and video game industry comes to a successful maze when AMD revealed its two new GPU models in the RX 480 range under the moniker the Radeon RX 470 and Radeon RX 460. One must recall that just a few weeks ago AMD had introduced its forthcoming Radeon RX 480 GPU at the Computex 2016 event a platform known for making the PC hardware industry's celebration on an annual basis.

The E3 event that stands for Electronic Entertainment Expo organized by Entertainment Software Association and currently being held at the Los Angeles Convection Centre. Talking about the new GPUs model, which are based on the same Polaris design as the RX 480 and will also be priced below than the same unit. Despite using same architecture, the models promise to perform console-class gaming and strong VR experience at a low price.

In the company's official press release this trio of GPUs was described as, “the full line of forthcoming Radeon RX series graphics cards", which also lets us know about the different variants which are both reduced and simplified. The company further added, “expand the VR ecosystem by democratizing exceptional VR experiences, making them available to many form factors and millions of consumers".

The company has not yet divulged information on the pricing of the RX 470 and RX 460 GPU and has rather stated that it would be disclosing the prices soon, however the top variant RX480 is expected to go for sale at a price tag of $199 (approx INR 13,365) and if what reports suggest is considered true then the price of two new siblings would lie in the range of $100 and might go up to $150.

The details such as performance, specification, and some other figures are yet to be confirmed, however, some reports have been hinting that RX 480 and RX 470 will breathe through the same Polaris 10 design, which carries a 2304 stream processor and performs at 1266 MHz. While the AMD is planning to launch it's Radeon RX 480 on June 29, the RX 470 will be out at a later date. On the other side, the Radeon RX 460 is reported to be powered by the Polaris 11 design, which consists of 1024 stream processor. In addition, it might offer a different version of 2GB and 4GB of GDDR5 RAM.
