Apple Might Stop Thunderbird Display Production After Stock Finishes

There is no denying to the fact that Cupertino giant Apple - majorly known for its iOS smartphones and several of its other products has recently taken interest in revamping its Thunderbird Display and it is expected that the company would do release it soon.

This statement is definitely confusing now since the company has now released an statement in which it has stated that it has no plans to replenish the stocks of Thunderbird Display and it will be available only till stocks lasts which also hints that Apple might be planning to disown the product completely.

Apple Thunderbird Display

As per what Apple says the Thunderbolt Display would be available for purchase via official Apple retailers, retail locations and the online store only till the products last after which, the company has no plans to replenish which indicates two different things. First, that the company is in full mood to throw away the lineup and second that it might be planning to unwrap a complete new product lineup of 5K displays which may or may not get a new name. Many Apple users are claiming the new name to be 'Apple 5K Display'.

"We're discontinuing the Apple Thunderbolt Display. It will be available through Apple.com, Apple's retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last. There are a number of great third-party options available for Mac users," said an Apple spokesperson in a statement given to TechCrunch.

Apple New Display might come with integrated GPU

The new displays are expected upon to accompany integrated GPU and a screen resolution of 5120x2880 pixels. The circulating rumors claims that Apple has plans to integrate a GPU into the display to make it future ready. The integration of GPU would also make Thunderbolt Display compatible with future Macs, and will likewise lessen the need of high resolution display to be controlled and powered by elite PCs highlighting top-end GPUs.

Whatever be the case, the possibility that Apple might kill the complete lineup of Thunderbird Display can't be ruled out and the much talked about displays were expected to get announced at WWDC event which was held recently, however that clearly didn't happen either.
