Your Connected Home is now Permeable with a Blemish on IoT Security

IoT devices have become the common things in everyone's day to day life. But what if you find the most secured, intelligent and smart device vulnerable? It will definitely be rooted to the spot. Yes, an array of hazardous vulnerabilities have been found in ZigBee - a software standard used by IoT devices. This security flaw can increase exploit in the devices' software.

Internet of Things has gained popularity at a very fast pace in the sector of home. This is the technology which gives the home a new name i.e. Smart Home or you can say the Connected Home. Every home appliance or home entertainment system, home lightning system, even the home itself make use of networking and web to change the complete scenario and nature of such devices.

ZigBee is a wireless standard for all IoT devices which is based on IEEE 802.15.4. This software tool is used to enhance the compatibility and communication among several IoT devices. But, as per the report of Cognosec, "low per-unit-costs, interoperability and compatibility requirements, as well as the application of legacy security concepts, has led to the persistence of known security risks."

It is the software which let devices to control and monitor messages to form a trustworthy home automation system which can do every task like opening and closing doors, check security cameras, turning lights, TV, AC, heater on and off and many more. But, this one security flaw can put all the home on risk and can mark a negative impression on IoT technology and the devices based on it.
