Armoured Range Rover Sentinel Caught on Camera in India

The British automaker Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations, Armoured Range Rover Sentinel has been caught on camera in India. Based on the standard wheelbase Range Rover Autobiography, it was first launched last year in the global market and also showcased at Defexpo 2016. The JLR's mobile fortress can stave off 7.62 mm high velocity, armour piercing incendiary bullets, and 15 kg Trinitrotoluene (TNT) blasts. Besides, it can also protect occupants against DM51 grenade explosions from above the roof as well as beneath the floor.

It looks like Land Rover has studied all of its corners and made it like most armoured luxury vehicle. Moreover, the carmaker has also added a multi-laminated bullet-proof armour privacy glass against the regular one.

Along with these, an Emergency Escape System is also added behind the rear seats that can be used at the time of attack in order to escape. Some of the additional security features are anti-tamper exhaust, auxiliary back-up battery, anti-smash protective glass and a self-sealing fuel tank. It will cost you a fortune as it is tagged with a price of €400,000 which equates to INR 2.98 Crore. Once launched, it might get direct competition with Audi A8 L Security and Mercedes-Benz S-Guard.

At the heart of the car, a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine is instituted to carry all these features. The engine is coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox to deliver a huge power of 336 Bhp at the wheels that is specially marked by ZF. The vital responsibilities of all the features is also well controlled by upgraded suspensions as well as 20-inch split alloy wheels with run-fiat are present to drive without making any clutter.
