New Bajaj Dominar 400 Variant Under Development, Launch Likely by July 2018

The Pune based automaker which has updated almost its entire Indian lineup is reportedly working on the two new variants of Dominar brand. As of now, it is unclear that what will be the new Dominar variants. However, a classic and a scrambler variant which was the part of company’s plan could be seen nearabout July 2018. Still, it would depend on market demand as the company is doing the market study for the concerned variants. As per a thought, Scrambler could be a better option as it could easily be crafted on the underpinned power cruiser platform.

Moreover, the Bajaj has introduced new colour options for the newest Dominar 400. When launched in 2016, the automaker’s had planned on disposing of 10,000 units of the motorcycle every month. Though the things did not go as expected and the company is now being able to roll out only 2000-2500 units a month from dealerships across the country. The introduction of new variants could be a great move to pace up the sales of Dominar 400.

From the mentioned a Classic and Scrambler variants, if the company goes with later, it is expected to get fitments such as the knobby tyres, new mudguard along with the higher ground clearance.

Beneath the fuel tank, without any alterations, we would witness the same old 373.3cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is capable of generating 35 PS of power and 35 Nm of torque.

Apart from this, we could see alterations in the components such as sprockets and gear to befit with scrambler characteristics.

In terms of pricing, the new variant will be a premium offering over the standard variant with a surge of INR 4000-6000. As of now, the Dominar 400 is available in two variants- the non-ABS and the ABS one. They are priced at INR 1,44,113 and INR 1,58,275 respectively (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
