The British manufacturer declared officially the launch date of the first ever all-electric vehicle. The Jaguar I-Pace is expected to reveal on 1 March before public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The electric SUV from Jaguar assures a quick charging by taking less than 45 minutes using a 100kW charger.
The Jaguar has revealed the I-Pace Concept at the during Los Angeles Motor Show 2016. The anticipated concept that time speculated to compete the Tesla Model X. Jaguar has put so many efforts in fast-tracking and manufacturing of the new I-Pace. Many times, the Jaguar electric SUV was spotted during testing.
The company itself claims as well to have measured the Arctic for cold weather testing of the electric SUV at the Arjeplog facility center and the temperature at that time was quite low as -40 degrees. The electric car takes a pair of the electric engine on each axle giving the radical SUV an all-wheel-drive framework and generating a maximum power of 400bhp and a peak torque of 700Nm of twisting force. It uses the Lithium-Ion batteries which are developed in-house and utilizes pouch cells in order for efficiency and energy density. Although, more information about the car will be revealed at the time of launch only.
The I-Pace will also come with Jaguar’s very own one-make championship naming the I-Pace eTrophy as expected later this year. In the 10 events, approximately 20 I-Pace race cars will have the grid during the inaugural season. The electric SUV is the new breed in the inevitable electric future. It will compete against Audi e-Tron Sportback, BMW i5, Mercedes-Benz EQC, and more in the future.
