Jeep launches range-topping Compass Limited Plus at Rs 21.07 lakh

The Jeep Compass is all set to add a range topping variant to its India line-up. Christened as the Limited Plus, the new trim will boast of added features like dual-tone exterior finish , reworked alloy wheels and panoramic sunroof. With these features, the Limited Plus is bound to be the costliest Jeep Compass variant till date. It will carry a price tag greater than about Rs 1.5 lakh from the current highest trim i.e. Rs 21.94 lakh the Limited (O) 4x4. Bookings for the new trim are open at dealerships. The booking amount is Rs 51,000.

Reportedly, Jeep decided to extend the launch date till today in light of the increasing public interest when some spy shots surfaced online. Jeep however has confirmed that deliveries will promptly begin in October first week.

Apart from the new premium features, the new Compass Limited Plus gets a sportier cabin with tan leather upholstery and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Driver and Front passenger seats are power adjustable too.

Underhood, the new Compass Limited Plus will carry the same engine as its sibling i.e Limited (O) 4x4. The 2WD petrol trim is powered by the 163hp 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission whereas the 4WD diesel trim gets the 173hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to 6-speed manual.

Besides that, Jeep has a slew of attractive offerings lined-up ahead of the festive season. This include Compass Black Pack in two variants i.e the petrol AMT variant at Rs 20.59 lakh and the 4X4 Manual diesel trim at Rs 22.03 lakh. Other than these, the Trailhawk-badged Compass could see an early 2019 launch and claiming stake at the growing Indian SUV market alongside rivals like Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen Tiguan.
