Sad news coming up for the Land Rover fans!!! The company has aborted Land Rover Discovery SVX, a hardcore off-roader, production. Discovery SVX has been first seen in the 2017 Frankfurt motor show, and at that time the luxury car maker brand has promised a follow-up production version for the model will be in showrooms for sale by the end of 2018. However, recently, the sources from the company revealed that Discovery SVX production would not go to production as planned.

Originally, this extreme hardcore off-roader was expected to come up with a 5-litre supercharged V8 engine with 518bhp. Unfortunately, now this top-notch Discovery SVX will not house a V8 engine, which means the range-topper Discovery SVX will not go ahead with its current form. Similarly, SVX models have also been planned to sit alongside with SVAutobiography luxury cars and SVR performance models by Land Rover.

Sources from the Land Rover revealed that the company did not want to offer the supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine to its Discovery car line-up. However, the SVX badge would still be continued by the carmaker for its other models, most probably on the rumoured Defender SVX. This production abort move made by the UK-based luxury car maker has also followed the cancellation of two-door Range Rover SV Coupe. This move has been made by Land Rover recently owing to its cost-cutting plan in order to boost savings and maintain positive cash flow through 2020.
