To make its presence all over the world, Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched the Huawei Y series 2019 in Sri Lanka at an event conducted in Hilton, Colombo. The Huawei has launched a trio of smartphones in its Y- series 2019 namely Y9 2019, Y7 Pro 2019 and Y6 Pro 2019. At the time of unveiling the Huawei Y- series 2019, the company reported that the new devices feature a "New Generation Dew Drop Display, Stylish Design with trendy colors and AI Camera".
The Huawei Y9 Pro 2019 comes with great features such as face unlock, Huawei Super Sound technology, AI scene recognition, fingerprint sensor and more advanced features. The Y9 (2019) series has been designed by Huawei keeping in mind the youth of the country.
Huawei Consumer Business Group Sri Lanka Country Head Peter Liu said in a press statement while unveiling the Huawei Y series 2019 "We are today introducing the next level of innovation for an affordable range. By adding that, the new introduction prides itself in Dewdrop Fullview Display, Face unlock, AI scene recognition, Wide aperture, Super and large battery capacity”.
The newly launched Y6 Pro (2019) features a leather-finish back cover and water drop - shaped display notch for the selfie camera.
The company is touting that the Huawei Y6 Pro 2019 is the first smartphone that features Dewdrop Display along with Leather finishing design. It comes with a 6.09-inch HD+FullView Dewdrop Display that offers 720 x 1520 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is available in Amber Brown and the Midnight Black color options which entirely different from other smartphones that are currently available in the market. The key attractions of the device include a textured leather finish design. At the software front, the Y9 Pro 2019 runs on Android 9 Pie based on EMUI 9.0.
The other key features of the Y6 Pro 2019 include Low light face unlock, Huawei Super Sound and 3000mAh battery coupled with AI Power Management.
In terms of lens, the Huawei Y6 Pro 2019 gets a single 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.8 and 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. Huawei has offered 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage in the Y6 Pro 2019. The smartphone comes with the support of microSD card which is expandable up to 512GB.

The Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 boasts a 6.26 Inch Dewdrop Full view HD+ display along with the screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. The company has offered three color options of Y7 Pro 2019 including Aurora Blue, Coral Red and Midnight Black.
For the photography purpose, the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 packs dual 13MP+2MP camera sensors on the rear panel accompanied by AI-powered features. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone gets 16MP front- facing camera along with Self-toning flash 2.0, and Largest Aperture F/1.8 and AR photography. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery along with AI Power Management, Face Unlock, EMUI 8.2 and Hand Gesture Control.
The Huawei Y9 2019 comes with a 6.5 Inch screen FHD+ display that offers the screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. It is available in two color options - Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue. Y9 2019 has been developed with the High-Class ceramic glass material and the 3D ARC Design keeping in mind the youth. The company is touting that it is “first Quad Dual AI Camera" that consists of 13MP+2MP dual sensors on the rear panel and 16MP+2MP dual sensors on the front panel. Under the hood, it is powered by a 4000mAh battery along with AI Power Management technology. The other key features of Huawei Y9 2019 include GPU Turbo, Game Assistant 2.0, Fingerprint 4.0 Version and Face Unlock.
The price of the Huawei Y series 2019 is not available at the moment. It must be noted that the Huawei Y- series 2019 has been launched only in the Sri Lanka market. As of now, there is no information when Huawei would launch the Y6 Pro, Y7 Pro and Y9 in other markets outside Sri Lanka.
The Huawei Y6 Pro (2019), Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 and Huawei Y9 2019 will be available for purchase at all HUAWEI Experience Centers and e-commerce platforms Singer Sri Lanka PLC particularly in Sri Lanka market
