Hero MotoCorp has launched the long awaited 2017 Super Splendor in India. Equipped with the company’s i3S technology, the bike has been priced at INR 55,275 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This employed technology will help the engine to shut itself down at the time of no loads or it is in neutral for 10 seconds and further can be restarted by simply pulling the clutch lever. This aids in improving the efficiency of the motor.
On the outset, the 2017 Hero Super Splendor continues to be powered by the same 124.7 cc air cooled engine that underpins the ongoing one. Mated to a 4-speed gearbox, the engine is capable enough to propel the unit with a power of 9 bhp at 7,000 rpm with 10.35 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Moreover, there are no such reports whether the motorcycle’s engine meeting the BSIV emission norms or not.
Aesthetically, the 2017 Hero Super Splendor iSmart is more or less identical to that of the 2016 unit except the i3s badging on the rear side panels. Dimensionally, it measures 1,995 mm in length, 735 mm in width and 1,095 mm in height and has a ground clearance of 150 mm. It will be available in a range of color options namely Black with Electric Purple, Vibrant Blue Candy Blazing Red, Graphite Black and Black with Fiery Red colour schemes.
