JLR Launches Range Rover Evoque Petrol in India at INR 53.2 lakh

After successfully launching the updated 2017 diesel-powered Land Rover Range Rover Evoque in India back in December last year, the automaker has come up with the petrol version of the same. Available in only SE trim, it is priced at INR 53.20 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).

On the mechanical front, the petrol-powered Range Rover Evoque comes with a 2.0 litre, four-cylinder motor making out 236 bhp with 340 Nm of torque. This is the same engine that is currently underpinning the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Moreover, a 9-speed automatic gearbox is mated to the engine to help the engine for transmitting the power at all-wheel axles. Paddle shifter is also there.

Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), said “We are excited to introduce the 2017 Model Year New Range Rover Evoque with a 2.0 l petrol derivative. The addition of the 2.0 l petrol derivative reinforces our commitment towards customers who aspire to drive this fabulous vehicle with a powerful petrol engine.”

Looks like, Land Rover has brought up this model to join the battle of petrol-powered machines that comes into the sprint after banning the diesel-powered vehicles in the NCR area. Several automakers had introduced petrol variants of their existing lineup here in the country. Some of the popular SUVs that sport a petrol guise under their hood after that implement are - Porsche Macan, BMW X3 and X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE 4-Matic, etc.
